I believe my Episiotomy was needed with my second too, it wasn't done due to fear of tearing, he was having big Brady's and they needed to speed things up (cord was wrapped twice around his neck). The tear with my third, I think was a bit unexpected, as I say poor midwife was gutted as it happened with the shoulders and not the head, she thought we'd got away with any tears up till then, bless her ..lol.
