We must remember that we are bound by trust policy not to promote one formula over another.

Sending midwives free stuff is one way that formula manufacturers promote their products. Think about it. They are not allowed to promote formula to parents with babies under 6 months old.

Carrying around diary covers and the like is something you should feel guilty about.

I would find a pair of warm gloves a necessity at the moment, especially on community when you are in and out of a warm car and houses.

A good memory helps so that you can remember to get your mentor to sign your book when you are on placement (I usually forget) and have seen/done something.

A reliable computer and printer with loads of ink & paper.

A good friend to nudge you in lectures if needed.
