I think so, but because they now have scar tissue that won't stretch like normal peri tissue. Usually women who have torn/had an Episiotomy very often get cut again by the doctors. I think a lot of exercises and massage like what tracy mentioned, however, could still prevent another tear.

Yeh, I've heard of several moms who did do everything "right" and still got a 3rd degree.
