| They refer to gravida and parity. Gravida refers to how many times a person has been pregnant, parity to how many babies they have had I.e. if you have had two children and are pregnant with your your third, you would be gravida 3 para 2 or G3 P2 6th baby Gravida 6 para 5 etc... does that make sense? hth?

| G is Gravida.. This is the number of pregnancies a woman has had.. P is Para.. This is the number of babies a woman has.. So G3 P2.. 3rd pregnancy.. 2 babies.. It gets confusing with twins and miscarriages.. G4 P1+2 - 4th pregnancy, 1 live baby, 2 miscarriages.. G3 P6 - 3rd pregnancy, 2 previous set of triplets... HTH

| P1 and G0 means it is the first time the lady has been pregnant, so P1 ...first pregnancy, G0 means she hasn't had registerable birth before (after 28 weeks of pregnancy I think it is) So, P7 and G6 means this lady is pregant for the 7th time, and she has had 6 live registerable birth's previously. Hope that makes a bit of sense, took me a while to get my head around it lol.

| Sorry I am still quite confused by this what if the lady has had 3 pregnancies and one resulted in a stillbirth or neonatal death? Would it be written as G3 P2?? Also what does multips than primips mean? Donna X xx X

| I think its G3 P2+1.. But I could be wrong as this confuses me also.. I think is depends on the gestation of the baby... (Soon to be 3rd year I should really know this :S) Primp is a lady thats pregnant for the first time Multip is a lady pregnant with subsequent pregnancys..
