Noone tells you that you need to be a good waitress as a midwife. Should do it on the clinical skills inventory!

I always knock on dining room door/on way out of delivery suite as you knock on doors soo much on there lol, my friend had chewing gum in and laughed at a cute thing the mums little boy did in ANC and spat her chewing gum out haha, cracks me up everytime I think about it.
Oh and TallPoppy I've also forgotten the cups loads, however ours are not fancy teapots they are metal with mostly dodgy lids lol
I took bloods with wrong needle, instead of vacutainer one, and blood was just pouring out of it in docs surgery, I obviously went bright red, poor woman looked like she'd been in a massacre x

Trying to move CTG machines and the dynamaps when plugged in (I do this ALL the time!)

My mentor yesterday really made me chuckle.. We were sitting at the desk and in walk a man, my mentor asks the man if he's OK.. and asked if **** was here.. mentor says, 'oh yes, are you her dad' the man says, 'no I'm her partner'.. me and another midwife that was working had to turn around cause we couldn't keep straight faces.. my mentor got out of it well through, ''oh, her dad has been ringing to ask if shes OK that's why i thought it was you' hehehe... to be fair though I would have said exactly the same, he did look old enough to be her dad.. 20years age gap..

I live in a wireless world too Duel and can be found regularly dragging bits of walls along with a CTG...

Thats the problem with those old pots.... I soon went over to mugs and the women and their partnes seemed to find it all more hoely 'a mug o' tea' better than all that fiddling about nonsense.

Im also generous with the butter, Im sure the NHS financial crisis is die to me and butter and jam. Mind you I make up for it by turning unneccessary lights off... thats my excuse, plus the women need a good feed after all their hard work!

Red face Re: Embarassing midwifery moments!

I was getting into a bit of a fluster trying to commence the computerized cardiotocography machine, when dad said "Doesnt it need to be plugged in first"
