Question C-section and bleeding?

I wonder if someone can explain vaginal bleeding after caesarean?

It's probably very simple and obvious so I apologise.

I was curious whether bleeding begins immediately as the c-section starts or on birth of the baby?

Does the cervix dilate just a little (ie. similar to menstruation) or a lot more?

Will bleeding be at the same volume as a vaginal birth (impossible to compare all births of course but very generalised)?

Thanks

This is normal after section as the placenta has still sepaarated albeit manually after c-section, obs state there is less as they remove as much as possible after c/s. so bleeding may be lighter and less in duration. so bleeding commences as normal after the placenta has been removed.

does that make sense?

Hi there
I had quite heavy bleeding after my first section (the midwife said it can be like that as it was an emergency section) after my elective section it was not so heavy (I think they said this was because they could take their time a little more and a lot of blood is removed in theatre)

I had normal bleeding after both of my c-sections. I'd say it started about the same time and the same consistency etc as after my vaginal births.

There didn't seem like 'less' blood loss (and both of my c-sections were elective) so I'm not sure about whether they removed some before stitching me up or not?

I had the same as appletree after my 2 sections. I also had to have a blood transfusion first time round..
