10 of us doing the 18 month course started at Northumbria today. It was awesome, feels amazing to finally be doing it. I know the setup will probs be different for those of you doing the 3 year programme but they couldn't have given us anymore information on anything, registration was smooth and they told us just about everything we needed to know about the course, placements, finances and expectations without overdoing it on the first day. Was very impressed and it made the start easier.

I remember my first day out on placement, I was on community with 2 midwives who did a clinic together always, very un-nerving, I got asked to make a decent cup of tea (or several!) they talked over each other all the time, said I was opinionated and also that I wouldn't be as enthusiastic in a few years! Here I am 4 years later working with them haha, they still think I'm opinionated, but I like to call it "passionate", but I get on with them really well, they taught me some great stuff, shared their years of experience with me, and got me "doing" (as they called it, bp, bloods, bookings etc..) straight away, so I was way ahead of alot of the others as they just said "go for it", I was really organised back then, had timesheets signed daily, and all assessments done and dusted quite quickly, I got worse as the years went by!! Brilliant days though, I'd love to go back in tme for a few days with them again x

Well yesterday was my first day but wow.... it was great!!! I'm so excited, i'm bouncing off the walls! lol I registered today and got my student ID, showed my access certificate etc Finally seems real!!

Today we were sat in the lecture hall with the all the nursing students, the hall seats over 200 and it was packed right out and students sitting on the floor! lol was great.
