Default community jobs for newly qualifieds??
Right, I have decied I want to be a community midwife when I graduate. Now I have heard the usual form was to complete 6-12 months consolidation of practice in the hospital and then you could apply for community position after that.

I am hearing newly's going straight out. What is happening in your area?

What are you opinions on this subject?

That said, there may be no jobs, but I am not thinking about that just yet

There are some newly qualified's in my area that are going straight out into community but this is rare.

Yer we are the same its about 6-12 months. I want to be based in the community as well, but i personally feel i want to start off in the hospital to build my practice up first.

Our trust will not let newly qualifieds out on community, until at least 12 months experience, but there again they won't employ anyone boohoo
