I hope GM that you DO NOT stand back but you are right though it is a worry. I have bitten my tongue so many times on placement it has a permanent groove of teeth shaped marks!! It is VERY hard as a junior student... but I'm hoping as a second and then, god willing, third year student I will be able to be more vocal.

I agree with what you say about being a junior student and hope that throughout this year and next I will be able to say something but (and I can be quite opinionated at times!) I really still don't feel comfortable in the hospital enviroment and don't feel that I can question my mentors. I realise this is a flaw which hopefully confidence can help me overcome.

In my head at the moment I feel that I will be strong and stand up and be counted but it is such a different senario when you are the junior on the ward and you are there in a position of learning. Not the right moment to challenge your collegues or the system. As you say though with experience comes confidence and we will hopefully be that champion for the ladies in out care as well as remain friendly with our peers. An impossible task one could be forgiven for thinking but God loves a trier and that's all we can do.

I really should now go and finish my English essay. Been putting it off and putting it off but got to be in for tomorrow. I'll take my leave now but hope to be back later this evening.
