Smile work experience

does anybody know where or who i would apply to, to do work experience with a community midwife??
And how does placement within a hospital work? is there usually a waiting list etc?
There's no rush so i think if its going to take a few months id like to apply now.
Also how long do you do the work experience for? thanks x x x x

I do know some of the girls on here have managed to do some shadowing, but when I tried this i came up against a brick wall, due to CRB and insurance reasons. I do know that the womens hospital (liverpool) takes volunteers but their list is closed untill april, so if its not to far to travel then I would give them a ring at the start of april, Hope this has helped x x

I think an IM might be your best bet. The general consensus of opinion seems to be that most work experience positions seem to be closed at hospitals at the moment, but IM dont obviously have this problem. I also know someone that asked at her local GP surgery for the communtiy midwife who worked there, and then made contact with her. As she was so lovely and accomodating, she let my friend sit in with her for a day, but I think this is not the norm and she was lucky to be given the opportunity!

I hope you manage to sort something out, but have a feeling it wont be easy...sorry!
