There is always clearing. The 4 Uni's I applied to will be offering places to the same girls. It would be an impossibility for them to accept all offers so there is likely to be more places available. Liverpool for example told me they list everyone in order and just continue down the list until all places have been filled so there is still a little hope after unsuccessful. They did stress that they have never got to the bottom of the list.
My back up plan is extra then clearing followed by a course my human phys tutor wants to run next year |

My back up plan was looking further afield, realistically most of the other uni's were too far to be practicable, but I spent many hours getting prospectus's and doing research to find out anyway. There were several in the pipe line and an open day at King's booked!
Could this be a possibility for you? Some do get in through clearing and extra, worth a try!

If I hadn't got in this year I'd have reapplied next year and done A level human biology this year... I'd have only applied for Teesside and York though.. wouldn't bother with Leeds/Bradford.

Hi, I don't know what qualifications you have, but more study can only enhance your application next year. I did Human Biology, the year before I applied, with the OU and it was tough for me. But I have just had my pre course A & P workbook through and I honestly don't know if I would have been able to manage it without the HB course (I hadn't studied for years)
If I hadn't got in I would have applied to be an HCA / MCA as that is the weakest part of my application - I have no care experience. Good luck, let us know what you decide to do

What is Extra?
If you have applied through UCAS and are not holding any offers, you may be able to apply through Extra for another course. Extra allows you to apply for courses with vacancies between the end of February and the end of June. In Extra, you apply for one course at a time using the Track service on this website. Am I eligible? To use Extra you need to have:
If you become eligible for Extra, a button will appear on your Track screen which you can use to apply for a course in Extra. Course Search will tell you which courses have vacancies - an 'x' will be displayed next to any available courses. Before you apply, we recommend that you contact the university or college to make sure that they can consider you. Check Course Search to see if there is an Entry Profile for the course because it can provide useful advice about what the university or college looks for in their students as well as case studies from students who have taken the course. Choose a course and enter the details on your Track screen. We will then send your application to the university or college. Making choices ![]() It makes sense to do some careful research and seek guidance on your Extra choice(s). If you applied for high-demand courses in your original application and were unsuccessful, you could consider related or alternative subjects. Your teachers or careers advisers, or the universities and colleges themselves, can provide useful guidance. What happens next? If you are made an offer, you can choose whether or not to accept it. If you decide to accept an offer, you are committed to it, which means that you cannot apply anywhere else. You will need to reply to your offer by the date shown on Track. If you decline an offer, or the university or college turns you down, you can apply for a different course through Extra (time permitting). Your Extra button on Track will be reactivated. If you do not get an offer in Extra, don't worry! You will be able to apply through our Clearing process, which gives you another opportunity to apply for vacancies.

As I only applied to three uni's I dont think I can apply for anything through extra can I? I applied for the three as I cannot go any further afield due to family commitments! Am just trying to decide whether to apply for adult nursing and then on to the fast track through extra (if i can, haha) or wait for clearing and reapply to the ones I didn't get into with the hopes that they have some vacancies, but if not apply through clearing for the nursing?
Does this make any sense to anyone, including me? Haha! Am just so confused as to the best course of action, but am finding all your support invaluable, thank you thank you thank you to you all! xx
