Default Huddersfield v Bradford... Pros & Cons please!

Hi I have been given a conditional offer for both and would welcome feedback on either of these uni's from anyone who has experience of them as I am struggling deciding which to go for!

This is a good point, i live closer to hudds placements than brad but didnt get into hudds, if i did i would have gone there. There is nothing worse than finishing a 12 hour night shift then having to drive 50 minutes (or longer depending on traffic) to get home like i have to from bradford.

Dont get me wrong im glad i am even on the course but i hate those drives home and just knowing if i got into hudds it would take me about 10 minutes to drive home from pontefract hospital does my head in!

Hi again, noticed on sms you asked about time in uni etc...

well at bradford we are never normally in later than 3- 3:30pm, we have every wednesday afternoon off (for the sports teams). I could email you our timetable if you like because if you did choose bradford i think yours would near enough be the same as ours has been. Just let me know.

As for support, you are assigned a personal tutor at the start of the year who you can contact in person, by phone or email for help, advice etc.. We use a thing called blackboard, like a forum where you can get in touch with your cohort and tutors to just chat or ask any questions. there is also a thing called pronto (its very similar to msn) which most of the staff are so you could get in touch that way. The midwifery office staff are really nice too and will go out of their way to help you if they can.

Hope iv helped a little.XXX

Thanks alot Tiffany

My Hubby thinks I'm going mad cos one day I'm leaning towards Huddersfield and the next it's Bradford... I'm on a Bradford day today by the way!

This is why I haven't confirmed anything on UCAS yet cos I know I'll change my mind.

I really like the sound of Wed afternoon's off and finishing at 3.30 as this will mean I can see the kids more. Huddersfield don't finish til about 6pm I think and there was no mention of afternoons off! Do you think wandering round town is classed as sport?

It would be good to see your timetable to get an idea of what to expect. I have a friend who is 3rd year and have had a glance at hers a few times but not really paid attention!

Haven't been able to get on SMS today, keep getting an error message!

Having a good rummage round here though.

Donna

I have attached my timetable (hope it has worked).. youl notice the first semester is busier then the second semester and where it does say 4-4:30pm finishes we always finish early and have only been there until 4:30 a few times.

Do think about travel though because like you said hudds finishing at 6pm then you have to travel home.XXXX
