Default Bradford 2008 anyone?

Anybody else going to Bradford in Sept or am I the only one?
It would be great to get in touch with people so we don't go all shy on that first day!

No, sorry, if I would have accepted my place I would have finished there by now funnily enough, well done for getting in, and good luck with starting, are all your placements at Bradford then???
I'm going to Airedale for my elective placement in a few short weeks, I'm looking forward to it, so I should meet some of the Bradford students then xx

Hi Tracy, I think most of the placements are at Bradford with the odd one at Airedale. I think they try to let everyone have some placements at Airedale if possible so they can see the difference as it's less busy than Bradford, it's not always possible though. Where are you then?

I think I would have liked to have done it over 4 years... do you find you have plenty of time for family as this is one thing I have been worried about.

Well its not too bad as I don't do any work till she goes to bed, and I don't do weekends either, so its okay for me, but it has involved doing a little everyday which works for me (little hair raising at times mind you!).
We get extensive summer hols-13 weeks in all so yeah I've loved the summer hols, alas I am a tad brain dead when I return to uni, and the first 2 weeks are spent bringing it all to the forefront of my mind again!!

Hols are one of the things I'm worried about cos of childcare... I have 3 of the blighters! I have been told will get 2wks around christmas 2wks at easter and 3wks in the summer... all of which may or may not coincinde with the kids hols! I feel childcare is gonna be expensive unless I manage to get placements/night shift around school hols!

Yeah it is very expensive isn't it? Well what you should do is plan for them to go wherever they may be going i.e. nursery/childminder/out of school club etc... Get prices for them (TBH you may appreciate them going to some of these for extra time for studying) then set days for when you will use them, fill in childcare aspect of bursary form to allow for this, ask the providers to do their bit, then book them in for those sessions, if they don't go they don't but you may get quite a nice amount off the bursary towards it, it does no harm to try, and it will save a lot os stress and many favours from relatives, just all round easier xx

Just waiting for the bursary forms. I have already registered them for childcare and they are pretty good cos they allow changes to hours every week is needed so I can hopefully play it as it unfolds.
