Default Mumnesia!!!!!

My brain seems to be broken, can't wait to go back to college and start using it again!
My friend has described this as mumnesia and says she can't think straight since having her baby! I definitely must be suffering.
When anyone else was writing their personal statement did they have it all jumbled up all over the place and then fix it once all your points are written down? Finding it hard to concentrate and its driving me off my head!!!!!!

Hi Bee

I think that we have all suffered from some sort of Mumnesia!! When you have kids your priorities change and you develop different skills. Some useful others not quite so useful!

I really enjoyed most of my access course and when I applied for Uni my personal statement that was submitted was probably about my eighth attempt. Good luck with writing your and have a look at the thread about personal statements.

Hi thanks coffeebean, I think I'm slowly getting there - the personal statements have been great at starting me off. Ahh well, time for a coffee break I think!

Hi yes I have suffeed from mumnesia! I think I still do and my youngest is 8 now. Last year during my access course my brain returned but now with nothing to stimulate it , it has turned back to mush.

If you need any help with your ps just ask!

Good luck with applying! Where are you applying for?

Yes, mumnesia definitely exists, I love that word by the way.

Don't worry, your brain does start working again once you start college, although it does take a while and relapses of mumnesia do randomly occur!

Ditto sooz with any help needed.

Good luck!

Hi girls thanks very much, I'm sure I'll be taking you guys up on the offer to help me!
Thanks J ™, this site has so much to read I keep missing things, think I've looked at this and then forgot about it again! I'll have another look. I also bought Mayes midwifery yesterday, thats a great book, especially as I still get stuck at how to describe midwifery related things that I know about using the proper terms.

I love the word mumnesia, I had never heard it before my friend mentioned and I thought it was so funny

Once you start uni you then go on to develop studentmidwifenesia, it is a very common condition among student midwives, the symptoms appear worst at assignment writing time, it isn't life threatening but the only cure is completing the course.

Yeah, and when you finish the course, those same symptoms are labelled 'senior moments'.

There is no hope for some of us! lol
