Congratulations on your place both of you. You have made a wonderful choice going to Huddersfield (I'm not biast in slighest either)

Where did you choose for your placement area?

We haven't chosen yet for the placement area!! I think im going to choose pontefract, It is closer to home for me and thats where I am moving to after christmas, plus my boyfriends Auntie is a midwife there so it would be handy for me.
Does that placement sheet come out with everything else they send you?

I'm not sure Emereald. I got in through clearing and filled mine in on the day. I would imagine you get it with everything else as they tell you (or they did us anyway) where you will be going on your first week there.

I'm placed at Pontefract, but we may all be getting moved around come Septemeber They said it's so we can see how different trusts work etc, which I can understand, but we actually know it's more to do with where to place us all

I hope we arn't moved for community as I don't fancy the idea of a 1 1/2 hour drive in the middle of the night for a homebirth

We shall see though in Septemebr cos nothing is set in stone.

Yeah They said that to us too, I hope that I get pontefract, it would just make things so much easier!!

But if not I am sure I will be ok, would like to see how the different hospitals do things, and get to use all the resources at all the hospitals.

So do you know she is a community midwife down there.

I just want everything to come through and get it sorted then I know where I am!!!

i want dewsbury hospital for my placement, 10 minutes from my front door!! does't get much better!! lol, mind you watch me get halifax!! x

You never know Lilli, I am 10 mins from uni and 15 from the hospital - it really couldn't be any better.

i'm not too bad it's about 20 mins to uni, one road straight through and placement i can be there in 10 so i'm quite fortunate x

My community mentor lived 5mins away from me. It was fab, she would always pick me up and drop me off

And ponte hospital is only about 15mins away so thats good too

Im gonna be there too! ( but you already know that!)

I have not yet decided wether I want to go to Ponte or Dewsbury hospital. I cant make my mind up!
