life has thrown loads at you- and look at what a strong person you must be to still be here, still be looking to the future, and still never letting go of your dream. All of these things will make you a stronger person i am sure of it!!!

Wow - what a lot to cope with. You are obviously a strong person and have the determination to get through whatever life throws at you.

I know from personal experience that there is never a right time to do your training - other than the time your heart tells you to do it.

As others have said, you can always defer a place or take a break from the programme if needs be at some stage, but do carry on with your application. You never know if this is the last hurdle before things work out really well for you.

Sending you warm hugs and best wishes for your future.

Scotschick, I am so very sorry for everything you are going thruogh, big hugs to you

I would say go on and get your PS in and done, life is too short and you deserve happiness, there is never truly a right time to do it, even when you're in the course as things always happen that seem to thwart it at every turn.

I wish you luck with your application, and every happiness to you and your family

Glad to hear things are looking up a bit more, you've been through a lot - I suffered with clinical depression about a year ago and attempted suicide and self harmed regulary when my marriage broke down due to domestic violence. I had no self esteem and I was doing nothing for myself. My family were going through things themselves, my sister had bulimia and my parents are very old fashioned and found it hard to cope with the fact I was leaving my husband especially when I have a daughter and almost disowned me. I got so low in the end and after a lot of counselling and help from my best friend in the world (who is now my partner) I realised that although my family were going through their problems I had to go and do something for myself so I started my access course and now I am well on my way to applying for sept 09 entry, I have a new fella, we are perfect for each other we are crazy in love and he is so supportive through all this as he knows how important it is to me. Right now my life is great. My ex has sorted himself out and is a great father and also has a new partner and we all get on together which is great for my daughter. I know I have waffled on now but I guess what I am trying to say is when things feel like they are so bad they do get better, if you dont go for it this time and things do get better in a few months when its too late to apply you would kick yourself as you would realise by the time the course started things would of been fine after all. Hope all goes well, I am sure it will and that you will live your dream - go for it - never look back!!!!

Again - thank you all so much. I was away visiting her tonight and she seems much better. Has tested negative for c diff which is good news.

I am feeling much much more positive today. Still not started my personal statement though.........

That is really good to hear scotschick, I am really pleased your Mum is much better, and also that she has tested negative for c diff, that must be a huge relief.
