It takes me an hour and 15 - 30 mins to get to uni and the same for my placement. Yes it is hard sometimes but I do it cause I have to. It is tough after a twelve hour night shift but my mentors are lovely and usually let me go a little earlier if not busy. The uni will take in to consideration your distance from placements and will generally give you the closest one to you. However if there are quite a few of you who are travelling a distance then be warned! I knew I would get my first choice placement being the only one daft enough to travel over the moorlands....particularly in winter! Oh and the petrol is a killer...£14 a day!!! But I can honestly say it is all worth it, and I would have travelled x amount of miles to do it.
It is amazing how you can drive with your eyes closed and arrive home without knowing how you did it....hahaha |

hiya,
just so you know (which i am sure you already do!) UCS offer lifts (minibus???) to students living in/near yarmouth to the uni for lectures etc. so you wouldnt have to drive and could study on the way! i know what you mean though - i am applying to both uea and ucs too, and currently live a stones throw from the uea. but if i dont get in and get ucs i'll have the commute too - which doesnt concern me too much as i love driving! would probably move though if i got ucs... A xxx
