Day 1 of work experience - sooooo tired

Hi guys I have started my work experience today! Had a great day shadowing a midwife based on the anti natal ward. Got to meet some of the mums to be, join a mum on a scan to check her placenta, and meet a mum just before and just after her 3rd c section. It was really great but tiring. So much to learn, and the dept was so so busy I never appreciated how busy midwives are until today. I ended up having a public transport nightmare too. I started this morning at 7 finished at 3 and didnt get home till 7.00pm! - There were probs with the trains which meant a 45 min journey took 4 hours! So not only was I already tired but by the time I got home after all that I was exhausted! It definately hasnt put me off though and I have got the rest of the week to go!

Im glad it went well. Oh i remember starting uni and the whole first couple of weeks we so draining. Im sorry it took so long getting home. Are you going to have that long when you start or are you at a different hospital?

Public transport is a nightmare, hope you have a better journey tomorrow.

Where is it you are doing your work ex? I have got some interviews set up for volunteer work and I am so so so excited!

Sounds like you have had a great day. I start my work experience next week. Is it through your uni as a pre course or just some voluntry work...?

Just asked to have a week work experience for my own personal development before I apply to Uni. 2nd day today was even better, they let me get a bit more hands on today, only taking bood pressure's and stuff but I loved it, I also got to got to help a lady feed her baby which was really nice and the journey home was fine tonight!!! All I can say is my legs are killing me and I am really tired but I am loving it loving it loving it!!
