I'm a bit bemused by this too - it was on our 'essential' list for purchases, but I've never used mine other than for practising at home on the OH!

I can imagine that you might need one once you get to your third year for your own community visits, but then again, I've always just borrowed my mentor's... another one of those things (like the huge pile of textbooks) I wished I hadn't jumped the gun with.

I am sure some people will use their steth's more than others, I too amnot into sharing a steth but thats just my own personal preference,

plus I think its good have your own, becasuse like you say Bunny you can get lots of practice in on your family members lololol

xx

Can i recommend Fly-flots as a comfy shoe. I bought a pair and wore them on a two day sight-seeing trip around London and they were great. They mould to the shape of your foot and have in build shock absorbers. I know they are not the trendiest of shoes (although they do have some really nice ones) but who cares when it comes down to comfort.

I also bought a pair of mules. Can anyone advise if these will be ok on placement or not (link below).

The uniform policy at the Trust I am at at the moment is that shoes have to be black, no more than 1" high and have full backs to them!!!!!!!!!!!! mules and crocs not allowed.
Not sure if all Trusts are the same!,

Hi
All you girls that want/need a steth. I am selling one on trading post. I got it for xmas but already have one. Its brand new and a really good one. Cost about 60 new. I am trying to sell for about 30.00. I know its a lot of money compared to the cheap ones on ebay but it is far better and you can hear low sounds when doing b.p. etc much clearer.

Sorry this is a bit of a sales pitch but it is just sitting at home and it seems such a waste! I am after buying a book I want if i can sell it
