Default What is it called when

I am trying to remember the words which mean in the best way I can explain it:

pregancy at 17 weeks. scan shows no heartbeat. Baby has died but not miscarried. Result is operation to remove baby.

Could someone clarify the medical terms for this as I don't want to get it wrong

Tnx

I THINK it could be....evacuation of retained products of conception. But I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

The dreaded PS, good luck with it, make sure to include the role of the midwife, and your passion for midwifery, also explain any relevant experience you have had that you can bring to midwifery, such as caring for your own children...time management, balancing caring resposiblites and any study you have/are doing etc.

Hope that helps?

Hi there,
The op to remove the baby is an ERPC as midwife missy has said, the actual loss of a baby that has not been miscarried is a missed miscarriage or sometimes refured to as a missed abortion which can be abit confusing.... I went through one myself sadly a few years back and remeber seing it on my notes. Hope that helps x
