Exclamation Calling all September starters!

I know many of you are starting in Septmeber and it is really exciting!!

I wanted to post up this thread to ask how you are all feeling now and would like to know when you are starting, what you have planned for these last few weeks of freedom?!!!

It would be lovely to know when your first days are and what you'll be doing.

I cannot wait to hear your stories, this site is in for a real change these next few months, and it's great!

We've heard your applications and interviews, read your personal statements and your terrifying, agonising waits to hear if you've got that precious place! So now to the very fast approaching future and your goal, it's fab to hear it all........over to you?!

Woo hoo! That'll be me then!!

Actually I am now really excited! I was at work on monday night (mca) and the midwife who does the student off duty was doing the new student one - with me on it! It was a surreal moment at 3.30 in the morning looking at my name on the off duty! It really bought it home and I have got a very fluttery tummy now!

I am going to Brighton and we are starting on 29th September with the first 6 weeks in uni, followed by community placements. We had a pre-course day on 10th July, which was good fun, getting to know each other, getting timetables and chatting to current students. It made me realise that actually I do have a place and haven't just been dreaming.

I have got 3 kids on summer hols so my final few weeks are busy! We live by the sea, so spend alot of time there when the suns out (not as much as I'd like). I work part time as an mca and am also trying to slip in as many bank shifts as poss to get some savings. We haven't done anything extravagant these hols but I seem to be spending money like the Beckhams! And constantly providing food - it's like having a plague of locusts in the kitchen!

I'll have a couple of weeks when the kids are back at school to sharpen my pencils and polish my satchel before I start - I also remember reading on here some advice to read trashy novels before we start 'cos we certainly won't have time when we do. Jackie Collins here I come.

Well I start at Middlesex on the 22nd, and it doesn't seem a moment too soon. I am looking for temp work at the moment and its doing my head in. Apart from that I've been in limbo just waiting to start!

My CRB hasn't returned, nor have we been told anything about occy health and not to expect to till late august. Bursary is the only thing I can tick off my list!

Im off to cornwall with my partner for a week at the beginning of september, and then I'll have a week before uni to start crapping myself!

Good luck to everyone who's starting this september!

Here I go...I'll be starting City University on 2nd Sept (my oh my what an early start compared to other uni's). I've been given my timetable for the first week it's mainly introductory lessons and sorting out occy health/crb. Occy health have just given me back my blood test results and it looks like there's inadequate levels of hep B antibodies in me (this I already knew because I still haven't finished the course argh!!)
But before all that there's the welcome day that I'm really looking forward to which is on the 20th Aug. Can't wait to meet you lot. It's so exciting - I'm getting that feeling I got on when I was starting school.
Before I start uni I shall be mini mum seen as my mum is away on holiday. She's given me sole responsibility of taking care of their every need - how sweet Luckily they're not too much trouble.
Other than that I'm working part time. That's all from me...how about the rest of you. Good luck for those of us who are starting it's gonna be a loooooong journey but surprisingly time will whizz by - SO MAKE THE MOST OF IT!!!!

I start on the 22nd September for the Freshers intro week. Lectures officially start on 29th I think. I've had my CRB done, Access signed off and have my OH appt tomorrow. I've not sent my Bursary forms off yet after spending months waiting for my number! I will do them tomorrow! Sorted out my loan, so that should be alright.. but still need to sort it out into my married name!

Ahhh... 46 days to go!

Hey guys.

I start on 22nd September 2008 at Birmingham City Uni.

Have had all my checks back and all are clear - just gotta have my heb B jabs. First one booked for 26th August. This will be the third appointment I've had for it... The first I was still a bit run down after my op (had wisdoms removed) the second time I received a text just as I parked up at the uni to say the nurse had called in sick so third time lucky we hope!

I hand my notice in at my current job next tuesday and finish on 12th september which im really scared about.... good salary and im going to be living on 6k a year for the next three years (thats not even my mortgage payments!)

Really nervous about meeting new people and worried about the commute (104 mile round trip each day!)

Other than tha, I cant wait and Im counting the days til i start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Ladies,

I start Middlesex University on the 22nd September. I have finished my access course and am awaiting certificates got the official letter last week. Got my CRB check back just waiting to hear about Occupational health check. Got told I might not get the hospital I applied to as they have drastically cut the number of places so am praying with all my might that it does not affect me. Bursary all finalised and been told I will be getting my first payment on the 21st of September although I find that hard to believe because I do not start till the 22nd. I will just work on the 3rd friday in October and hopefully be pleasantely surprised.
Uni have not offered taster days and so am really scared as do not know anyone going there apart from Kitty kat (hello kitty). So am just enjoying my final few weeks as a lady of leisure.
