What the hell!? This is disgusting the way you've been treated, I wouldn't stop till I got this sorted, that place is yours they should no way be able to take it away from you now. Let's hope what Bunny's provided can help and get you that place back.

Good luck hun, I hope it all works out for you. Got my fingers crossed for you.

I now have an appointment to see an occupational nurse (?) therapist on 5th September, they
originally gave me 11th september but as thats after start date of 8th and admissions said i wasnt allowed to start unless i had been cleared i nagged for an earlier 1.
This is really taking it to the limit huh

Good! Now make sure you go armed - get to your GP especially for that side of the support - a professional's word counts for a lot. At my occy health interview I went in incredibly positive, and had a whole spiel ready about about how this experience has enhanced my coping skills, I was fully aware of the reasons for my depression, and my own stressors and triggers, and in a good position to recognise the warning signs. I made that nurse sure that I knew more about my condition than she could and that I was very capable (even though I wasn't that sure myself tbh!)

As an aside, I just have to share a fantastic resource that I found - it really made a big difference for me, and it's free! Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mainly for people with stress / depression issues, but also for professionals, and gives some good life coaching skills to boot:

More big love!

if i take out the 106 days off i had (nov 06 - feb 07) for the depression, the rest of my sick record isnt too bad, it amounts to 17 days, and this also includes 2days for when my grandad died - ok i know itsa not brilliant but surely its not THAT bad they can refuse me in reality

God, I am so sorry MJD, I really am, I find that difficult to accept, and really don't think it is fair at all.

It is a common theme with this course that despite its apparently friendly and caring, empathetic exterior, the real truth is at times very harsh and impersonal. There is little acceptance of people's own problems and history.

I know people who have worse medical histories than that who got in, it seems so terribly unfair, is there no means to appeal? could you not involve your GP?

so sorry

Mrs JD don't give up!!! I have had periods of depression in my life and lets face it the people that haven't must be few and far between!!! I have had my OH app this week and was asked about the periods I declared both of which where some time ago and it seemed to pose no problem to the OH Nurse I saw she just said that
since the Beverley Allett case they are required to have more info before they clear you, which I am sure they will!!! Asked me stuff about if I had ever self harmed or been sectioned and what had triggered it and if I had needed medication and for how long.

Good luck with it all, I am sure this is not the end for you x x x

To be fair, I can see why they have been as it is over a third of the year in sick time, however you've proven your back in shape since and I hope you get something sorted out in your meeting in sept. xx
