I too have had depression so can completely understand why you had that time off, it is like Bunny said it is a form of disability as some mornings you just cant get out of bed, it is not a choice at all, completely out of your control. I have read your comments and feel like you I am entitled to my opinion and my interpretation of the comments made.

You are correct that it is illegal for people to be discriminated against however there is are sipulations on when an illness is recognised as a disability. I also stated that it was great that Mrs JD is being given the opportunity to explain her absences.

As for your comment on the paragraph regarding work and grievances, may I clarify that is aimed at supporting people on this forum in a work place situation. When the road is rocky there is a lot the company can do to support you.

Often peoples depression is exaserbated (spelling?) by situations in the work place.
Companies are very often sympathetic once they understand exactly what is going on.

As the wife of a husband who suffers with sever agraphobia, is clinically depressed because of it and unfortunately addicted to Seroxat, I understand totally how bad depression, stress and panic can affect you.

I too am supporting my fellow students with advise, suggestions and in that context wish you all the best with your battle against this condition.
