Default When are interviews

Hiya

I am in process of getting my UCAS form filled in and sent off. Does anyone know how soon the interviews begin?

I know the closing date for applications is January, but do the interviews start before then or do they wait until they have all of the applications in??

Also, do you find out if you have an interview on the UCAS tracker or by letter and do you have to just wait until July or so to realise your not going to get an interview or do you get notified that your unsuccessful?

Sorry theres so many questions in this, but i'm sure alot of people applying will be wondering about these.

xxxxx

Interview dates really seem to vary quite dramatically between Unis. Some Universities start interviewing and allocating places as early as October, while others won't even look at applications until the end of January. I know some Unis were still interviewing as late as August for September places.

As far as I'm aware, you will receive a letter from the University inviting you to interview, along with information about the interview day, directions etc. I don't think all Unis will send rejection letters; some people on my Access course found out they were unsuccessful via letter, while others only found out by looking at their status on UCAS.

I would definitely recommend getting your application in as early as possible, as quite a few Universities will allocate places before the closing date, so you're limiting your chances if you leave it until then. I would also advise checking UCAS on a regular basis to make sure you know where you stand. UCAS usually email you if anything has changed, but this doesn't always happen so it's best to keep on top of it.

Hope that helps a little bit; any other questions, let us know! Good luck with your application,

Clare X
