Unsuccessful

Hi All
I've been waiting to hear off my Uni as I have been on the reserve list, decided to phone today and was told they are full at the moment and will get back to me as they are waiting on one person. They asked if I could start at short notice, which of course I said yes.
I still have a slight hope but not gonna cling to that coz I could be setting myself up for dissappointment again.
I am soo soo soooo gutted but not going to stop as there is nothing else I want to do. I've tried thinking and looking into other things but I know I will just not have the heart and drive to do anything else.
So I shall be revising my personal statement and trying again this year. My nerves let me down last time so this time I am going to be more prepared and will know what to expect.
At least I know now though, and don't have to drive myself mad with waiting!!! lol
So here's to the future and trying again lol!!

Oh, right it did confuse me, which is why I didn't reply!

It looks like there is still hope for you this year but good luck for next year if you do have to apply again!!

Sorry to hear you were unsuccessful but keep trying. Many of us have had to try a few times and Im sure it will be worth it in the end.

I was on the reserve list and I know how frustrating it is. Sounds like you have got the right attitude though. You have still got a week or so before it would start right? But get on with other things and *try* not to dwell.
As for nerves you've at least had an interview so you'll know what to expect next time.

As horrible as 'close but no cigar' is - at least you know they were impressed enough to have you on the reserve list and not just turn you down straight away.... Hopefully you'll get a call in the next couple of weeks (we had 2 not show up - can you bloomin believe - so 2 of my cohort got calls after we'd actually started) If not, as you've said - your ready for them this year!! Keep us posted xx

Cheers all for your replies and kind words. I'm going on holiday sat so gonna forget everything and have a fab time with the family. When I come back I will concentrate on my PS and hopefully you guys can have a look over it for me. Will keep you all posted if I hear anything for this year.

sorry to hear that you didnt get in, there is a chink of light and hope as we also had 2 people that didnt show up on day 1. Failing that, you sound positive for next year and in the meantime, go and have a fabby holiday - you deserve it
