SO ANGRY

Sorry guys hope you dont mind but I need a place to vent. I have been off sick for a couple of months due to depression following the discovery that I have severe complications with my reproductive organs and will have trouble conceiving again and also that I am going through a divorce. I am due to go back to work next month. My partner works for the same company and took my sick note in only to discover that my manager who knows everything I have been through has left my dept and my team are currently have no manager! I wasnt told a thing and now I feel totally deflated as I feel I cant confide in anyone else. It wouldnt be such a problem if I had a new manager and I could have a meeting with my old and new managers and discuss my past, why I was off and what I need to get back up to speed in my job again, but there will be nothing I will be expected to just turn up and get on with it - and it is a very pressured environment where the best is never good enough (american company!) The thing I am most angry about is that no one had informed me. My orginal return date was today but it was pushed back by my doctor. So basically I could of gone back in today and not had a clue where I should be and no one would be expecting me back or know what to do with me!!! I hate the place anyway and this had upset me so much I have been in floods of tears - I cant afford to be off financially and because it will look bad when I apply to uni but I cant bear the thought of going back to that place and finding another job with the right hours and right pay is a nightmare - feel totally upset and even though my OH tries to understand he thinks I overreact to everything which is not the kind of reaction I need right now I feel really alone.

Sorry to hear that! What a crap company! One I worked for were the same, I was off the week before xmas and when I came back, no one knew I was ill, even though I'd rung them and they can ask other people I worked with. The lost my sick note that I sent in and left be about £300 out of pocket! I say we blow the places up!

Oh Clare, I'm so sorry! Is there not a HR dept you could speak to about it? It's very shabby that you were not informed of current situations and you have every right to be angry. You have all our support here lovely, we're always here if you need to rant.

cheers guys I have calmed down a bit now and I am gonna get onto HR about it all - just hope I get onto a course for sept 09 then at least I will know for sure I only have a year left there!!

That's awful Claire, I was in a similar situation when I went back to work after maternity leave, we had no manager for our team and our duties had totally changed, it was awful, especially as I really didn't want to be there even if I did know what I was doing. It's these big companies, they really do not care about their employees one bit
