Question Health check for Uni??? Am I too fat???

Hiya ;0)
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what a health check involves when you apply for a place at Uni?
I suppose weight will come into it and I read a post not too long ago where the lady mentioned that it was a bit touch and go as to if she was offered a place due to her weight.
I'm 5ft 9" and nearly weigh 16stone and am a size 22. Do you think that will go against me?
I did try to lose some weight this year and managed to drop 31pds of which I have now put on 22 of those!!!!!!!! So disappointed in myself and can't believe after all that hard work I've put it on in just a few short weeks.
Would love to hear your feedback and if weight has been an issue for you when applying. Dreading the thought of my expanse in a white tunic!!! OMG.....
Many Thanks ;0) xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey honey I am a 20/22 and about the same as you so don't worry about it. With all the stress and hard work of the course you won't get any time to eat (haha)

I ski, walk twice ever day with the dog for about 3 miles each time and 10 miles plus at a weekend, uphill and down dale. I am not unfit just cuddly. You will be fine

Aww thanks hun ;0) God you put me to shame. I just sort of go out the font door and usually into the old banger and thats about it. I really must make an effort but with the nearest shops been about 10miles away I have to use the car maybe more than I would like. Still that's no excuse I could go out for walks in the countryside.
The thought of been on your feet all day or studying all the time did go through my mind as maybe a way I will be able to drop a few pounds. You never know.

Haha, I am bigger than you, shorter than you, older than you and very unfit, but I have just completed the course, so you should be fine.

I too thought I would lose weight whilst running up and down the corridors - but alas, I put on 1/2 stone whilst on the course.

I now have the goal of shedding some weight when I get back from Canada.

Will i still need the Hep B jab if I am a regular blood donor. Surely they check for that before using the blood. I hate needles bit i do my bit to help those that need it.

Life eh!!!! It is unfair to think half a stone crept on while you were studying so hard. I've thought to myself I might lose weight while studying cos I won't be able to have a sneaky glass of wine or two on an evening. Will need all my senses to do my work. Well thats my reckoning...
Canada sounds so exciting. I hope you have a wonderful time. It is supposed to be so beautiful in the Autumn. If you find a handsome mountie pop him in your suitcase and bring him back for me... xxxxxxxxx

Nobody asked me about my weight at my medical, am still carrying all my baby weight and prob a bit extra if I stop trying to kid myself and am not looking forward to my uniform fitting as they are none too flattering on the skinnest of women but hey ho.

I am sure it will not be an issue for you hun, we are all beautiful as we are and as long as you have no health issues that will stop you doing the job thats all that matters x x x
