Proteinurea

Proteinuria (from protein and urine) means the presence of an excess of serum proteins in the urine. The protein in the urine often causes the urine to become foamy.

Tested via Urinalysis.

Can indicate pre eclampsia and eclampsia but more commonly small amounts of protein can be due to changed glomerular filtration in pregnancy and be normal physiology. Proteinurea can indicate a Urinary Tract Infection or diabetes.
