Default SMNET Study Guide NEW!

In response to the many queries and questions that we have here on StudentMidwife.NET we have created our very own Study Guide, written by students for students.

It is a 'How to' guide and covers all the main ways you are expected to study midwifery.

You will find 22 pages of guidance and tops tips covering;

  • How to write and deliver presentations including examples of slides
  • How to write an assignment including planning and structuring
  • What PBL is and how best to approach and structure it
  • Outline of 7 Reflective models and how to use them
  • How to structure and present a professional report
  • Complete guidance on how to download the StudentMidwife.NET Research Toolbar and how to use it to research assignments
  • Complete guide to the SMNET Educational Resources area

Like the Workbook, the guide is a pdf document that you can download for £4.45. All proceeds are returned to SMNET for its maintenance and continued development.

If you would like a copy please click here

Its really useful and I actually learnt loads putting it together! Its the kind of thing I wanted when I started as its nice and straightforward, I remember feeling overwhelmed thinking how do I do that? what is that? where do I find out? etc... and now its all in one place.

It gives you a good idea of what you would be expected to do at Uni to study midwifery so its useful for SM2bs too plus the guidance is suitable for access students too as it outlines how to do assignments, research etc.

I hope people find it helful

I learned loads just doing my tiny part of it too TallPoppy!

I am still getting my head around reflection, after completing two essays and another on the way using reflective models!

I would have really liked this, especially during access and waiting to start to give myself a better understanding of writing essays and how to use these methods!

it will definately help me from now on to write a better structured essay
