Default NEW site! MidwiferyWorld.NET for Midwives is LIVE!!

As you are aware we have been working on a sister site called MidwiferyWorld.NET. The site is now live and now begins the process of letting midwives and senior students know about it!

The site is very similar to StudentMidwife.NET and has the same ethos. The MidwiferyWorld mission is to provide a welcoming, friendly and supportive environment where open and honest discussions about midwifery can take place among practising midwives from all career pathways and senior students.

Our goals are to:
  • Share information
  • Support midwives throughout their career
  • Promote good practice
  • Promote and support continued professional development
  • Support fledgling midwives in the transition from student to midwife
  • Be a midwifery resource
We encourage all senior students to take part as the site is aimed to help you with obtaining a job, hence we have brand new up to the minute jobs, a CV guide and lots of practising midwives to give you advice and support. We also encourage you to publish your dissertations on the site in our Research area, where you can share the results of your study, surveys etc and start influencing midwifery practice!

The site will offer midwives and senior students a supportive, friendly community where they can let off steam, share practice thoughts and ideas and network. Taking part in the site and helping other midwives to progress their practice and help senior students to develop their style counts towards CPD!

As with SMNET we have all kinds of wonderful things up our sleeves to support midwives and senior students..... so be sure to tell your tutors, lecturers, mentors and final year friends!

Please print off the poster that is attached and put copies up in your Unit and at Uni and help us spread the word!!

Thanks for helping us to help midwives

Thanks RG, I hope that midwives will come together on MidwiferyWorld to build a place like we have here! Especially now with the NMC Code issue, our sites are safe, as we 'take precautions' for want of a better phrase! and sadly, not many others are.

We're very lucky that you look after us on here, it's obvious that you care about the people and not just the numbers.

Im glad that comes across as it was never about numbers or having a 'the popular site', its always been about forging a community of likeminded women and men where we can learn, ask questions, offload, shout, cry, laugh, feel safe and feel at home - while presenting the best face of the future of midwifery to the public who may stumble across us - hence the strict rules. When KB said she felt the site was like 'having a 2nd family in her computer' I thought 'YES!' thats the idea!

It is so true though, and now I have a 2nd mam and dad - hahaha!! Midworld is a great site for senior students and RM's; it's growing in popularity and IMO already has that 'family feel'!

It is exactly like a second family, here I am now, just got in from work and the first thing I have done, after saying hello to DH, is log on to say hello and see what's up on here.
