Default How long did your access course take?

Hi, I'm considering applying to do the access to Midwifery course via distance learning, and was wondering if any of you had done the same and how long it took you to complete. I have read a post on another site from a lady who was hoping to complete in 8 months! How realistic do you think that is.

Hello! it will take however long you need to complete it. If you have a lot else on, it will take you longer to complete your modules. However, if you have very little else on, i see no reason why you couldn't complete it in 8/9 months. Afterall, college courses on a fulltime basis only actually have 8/9 months of classroom based tutorials.

good luck xx

Hi Bumpmad . . .

WHere do you get the details about the access to midwifery course and who are thinking of doing it through ? To me that sounds a better idea than the general access course to healthcare. And if you can study from home . .all the better

Thanks

Cathryn

I am also taking this same course and have looked into it quite thoroughly as I wanted to make sure it is relevant and has been validated by the right organisation. Bournemouth Uni have said it is but I am not sure where I am applying to yet. If you know, make sure they are okay with the module 'human biological systems' or if they need something else. With this course, you pay a monthly fee and take as long as you like. You can have a break and return ... Although this sounds very flexible, I work much better with concrete deadlines! Good luck, we may end up studying at the same time!
