I've got my access interview on friday

i'm excited but scared.
Does anyone know what sort of questions they are going to ask me (they said the interview takes an hour).
I also have to take an english test, does anyone know what this involves?

What should I wear? Normal clothes??

ooooh, great news!!

I'd wear casual smart clothes (not like me woh wore a suit and everyone else turned out in vests and jeans, DOH!)

they will ask why you want to take an access course, how you will study, what subjects you need, what interests you etc...

My college were reasonably informal, so maybe you need some other views....

I had my Access interview last month, it was very casual. I had already met the tutor at an information event and he remembered my interest in midwifery. He basically reiterated that the course would take over my life for the next year and that it would be hard work. He asked if could I commit to it completely as I wouldn't get a second chance (you only get funded once) and did it fit in with my children's school collection times etc?

Once assured that I had thoroughly thought it through and was prepared for what was expected of me, he skimmed through the 500 word 'essay' I had prepared in advance and offered me an unconditional place! The journey starts here...

I wore black trousers and nice top but I saw some people in jeans.

I havn't been asked to do an essay, is this common for the access place? I just got told we would be doing a short english test

When I had mine it was very casual just asked questions about where I wanted it too lead mainly so they know what subjects and credits you will need and that you will be able to cope with the course. The English test is very straight forward think its just to test your level of literacy but nothing too complicated.
