Some of the universities in the plymouth area will probably have a placement hospital in cornwall. Contact the uni to find out or have a look at the web page. the info will be there somewhere. You could always ring or email the admissions tutor too and find out from the horses mouth.
Your best bet is to do an access to nursing/higher education course, which can be done over 1 or 2 years, and a local college will do that. You need to ring them very soon if you want to start it in september as places will be sparse now. At my uni they also like you to have maths gcse and science gcse too, but the access course should cover that. |

I also agree that an access course is something you should be considering. Uni's like to know that you have studied within the past 5 yrs anyway, so chances are you would have to do something. At my chosen uni, you need grade C in Eng, maths and science at gcse level and although these are inc in the access course, the uni doesn't accept these and still require GCSE level too. So check.

Yes, Most unis will require 5 GCSEs including Maths and English. Some unis will accept keyskills level 3 in Communication and Application of Number (Teesside accepts these but only at level 3) Plus 2 a levels/Access certificate. If you're going to go the Access route, make sure you're aware and have the GCSEs that they require and that your access will give you enough credits to gain entry. Most universities are now wanting a higher level of Access than a pass (distinction/70%) and a higher passrate than for nursing.
Finally... Good luck xxx
