Default ratio of younger to mature students

Hello I am thinking of doing a midwifery course straight from school at 18. I am worried that there won't be many other students my age. What is the usual ratio of younger to more mature students/

No-one will take any notice of your age. There is a mix of ages in each cohort. Usually 18 - 50+

Everyone is worried that they will be viewed differently, but it is the type of person you are and not your age that matters.

Hi Erina welcome to the site!

I guess i'm in the same boat as you because i'm hoping to do the midwifery course straight from school but for 2009 intake.
I used to feel worried that I might be the only 18 year old but really as Duel and KS have already have said- age is nothing but a number and I think you'll be able to grow bond with people who are the same age as you as well as older.
Plus everyone is starting at the same level of midwifery as you so I guess you can find some common ground there!

Hiya! When I went to my pre course day to meet everyone in my cohort there was a real mix of ages from 18 to 40's I was actually suprised at the number of college leavers there were more than I thought there would be! x

Hey all,
I definately agree with all that has been said! I'm applying this year for the 2009 intake and will be 21 turning 22 when I start! From what I had thought and heard, I thought that there would be lots of more mature ladies on the course, however after attending open days, I've seen a real mix! I know its the only thing that I can imagine myself doing for the rest of my life, or at least the best part of it, so go for it no matter! For those applying for 2009, where are you thinking of applying??
