Someone please kick me up the butt.

What is wrong with me???

I have wanted to be a midwife for over 9 years now. The time has finally come to get my application together and all I can seem to do is procrastinate and find reasons not to do it. I did a first draft of my personal statement months ago and haven't looked at it since. The form is lying going dusty on my desk. I can't even seem to get round to emailing my lecturer at college regarding getting a reference I asked him for 2 months ago.

I don't know why this is the case. Have I spent so long thinking about this and now it all is just a bit too real??

Am I worried I won't get in and don't want to fail??

I don't know. Just felt the need to rant....
What is wrong with me! Help someone??

You are probably a bit scared - get a good nights sleep and see how you feel in the morning! It is a scarey process, especially when you want something so much. It can seem a bit daunting. Do the UCAS form a small bit at a time. Take your time over it - especially the personal statement. E-mail your lecturer on Monday. Once you have got things in motion I'm sure you will feel much better.

Or tell me I'm talking rubbish! I don't mind!

Maybe you are scared of failure? I'd say write down a list of things you need to do and work your way steadily through them.

What's the saying? If at first you don't succeed try again? Something like that anyway.I always think for every negative there is always a positive what the worst that can happen you don't get a place but next year you'll be bigger and better! But your not gonna fail anyway so don't listen to my bull! XX

i agree, make a list, take a deep breath, a cup of tea...and start working through it, hope you feel better about all this soon, maybe because it means so much to you the whole process has been blown out of proportion?

Thank you all for replying. I am still procrastinating, but not as much. I have started a PS 'plan'.... you will note I have not written any of it yet..... Phoned CATCH for a new application pack and will email my tutor as soon as I have done a bit more work on my PS.
