If you successfuly complete the access to nursing course but are declined a place at uni, can you reapply every year ?
Also what should you do to keep your hand in so to speak throughout the year ?

Thanks x

Hi Nicki!
Yes you can keep applying, you should use the time to strengthen you application for the following year ie. by doing voultary work, but even if you are unsuccessful when you apply you may be placed on a reserve list. Whats to say you won't get in first time anyway.... think positive good luck!! xxx

Yes nicki, you should recieve feedback from the uni, in order to improve the weak points of your application or interview and you can reapply for 3 0r 5 years, after which time you'd ned to do access again (not that this would happen, you're likely to get in first time!)

You may be successful, but be on the reserve list which means of someone drops out very early on or doesn't meet the requiremnts of their conditional offer, you would be offered the place. You may also be successful for deferred entry for the following years intake also.

A good thing to do to strengthen your application would be some kind of experience with a midwife or maternity setting, such as shadowing a community or independent midwife

check this site out for an independent midwife in your area www.independentmidwives.org

or you could contact your local maternity unit to volunteer there, or for a maternity assistant's job, or try your local surestart clinic too?
