Default Just spoke to an independent midwife...

I rang to ask about voluntary work & she said she only has 1 client at the moment but I am welcome to go see her for a coffee & a chat - do u think this would be a good idea or not really worth doing? x

I'd say it may well be worth doing, she can teach you and show you alot, one client or not! and it looks very good on your application. Though I guess with one client you aren't going to see to much midwifery

She did say that she wouldnt be seeing this woman for a while now though so I guess I wouldnt get to see any midwifery action, just a general chat about the job etc!

I would go for it definately!!! Although she has only got one client at the moment, she will be able to share with you the many experiences she has had in the past and give you some advice...I would do it at once! =) I will also try and contact an independant midwife when I`ve moved to London and hope to be lucky enough to find one whose close and is prapared to have a volunteer come round!
Good luck with your application!

I would definately go! She will be able to give you the wealth of her knowledge and who knows she might even contact you in the future when she has more ladies to look after. Good luck and let us know how you get on x
