Hi Wendi, I don't think there is any training for a midwifery assistant, I could be wrong though, I think you just need to keep an eye out for any vacancies although it does seem to be difficult to get one, you may need to get a job as a HCA either in maternity or elsewhere first. Good luck

Hi,
Whilst looking into midwifery I have looked into the MCA side of it as well it always helps if you have some knowledge and understanding of midwifery to get a MCA job, such as an NVQ II in health care or even if you do the Access to Midwifery course this will give you a deeper understanding of your role as an MCA. Always keep a look out on the NHS jobs websites. My fingers are crossed for you best of luck xxx

Wendi - are you living in the states? I say this because you referred to Midwifery school and also called yourself Mommy as apposed to Mummy - this site is primarily uk based so the system for becoming a maternity assistant in the US is probably completely different, if you are in the UK I hope the other ladies have given you good advice.
