As a student do you work in the Special Care unit?
As a student do you get to work in the special care unit? I would like to experiance it as my daughter was in special care. So yeh i was jus wondering really. Or can you do an extra course to include it?x

On our course we do Naomi, we work in SCBU and NICU too in the third year
Hopefully you'll get to go there too!

We have a placement in SCBU in our second year, I am really looking forward to it as two of my children spent time in there too.

I would really love to spend time there too. My daughter was Prem and I enjoyed every moment that i spent there even though it was not a nice situation. Further down the line I think I may specialise to work in SCBU or NICU if thats something I could do as a midwife??

We had SCBU in year 2, I loved it. My mentor was the ward sister and was excellent, I learnt so much from her.

I've got NICU placement coming up in the second semester of year 2, i'm looking forward to it- will certainly be something different! x
