Default midwifery related project???

hey y'all

I have been-a thinking... I'm doing my OU courses, got my voluntary work and read my PM every month (havent got it this month yet actually...) but wondered about doing a personal midwifery-related project?

I am hoping to go to a study day (I'm not an SM yet so not sure if I'm permitted) concerning pregnancy and diet. I have a keen interest in diet in pregnancy - what women adapt, if they adapt, health nutrition etc and thought about doing a mini-project on this subject.

Thing is, and this may seem a silly quesiotn, but will uni's look down on this? like i'm getting too far ahead of myself? Idont want them to thikn i'm a know it all who's trying to complete the course before i've started! I just want to tackle a subject and research it. And also put it in my PS!

any thoughts?

ta!

Hey Amanda, it seems like a really good idea to me?!

Re study days you should be able to get on one as you are looking to apply, contact the one you wish to go to and check to make sure though.

There is lots of information out there on nutrition in pregnancy and looking for this information can only enhance your application, so why not?

Good luck with it, if you need any help please feel free to pm me

Not so sure theyd look at it although you could sort of do a bit of research-enough to give you a lot to talk about at interview. You could also mention in your application 'i am interested in x and have undertaken a research project about x in order to increase my insight into the role of the midwife within this field' maybe?
