Default UCAS form references

Hi,
I am just wondering if anybody knows whether one of the referees has to be a college lecturer or somebody like that??
Only asking because I completed Access the year before last so not sure whether I could get one as my course co-ordinator has now retired!
Would a reference from work be acceptable? (I currently work as a Maternity HCA).
Am sooo confused!!
Thanks xx

My college tutor is still happily doing refs for her past students - even though yours may be retired the college should still help you. Good luck. x
