It appears so, some access courses will offer maths at level two as part of the course, not all do though, you may be able to do this separately at a local adult education centre.

i would contact your local college to enquire as to what modules you will be taking as part of your access course, and what credits it will give you at levels two and three to ensure you meet the entry requirements

From that it looks like you'd be better off ringing them and asking them straight.

Hi Bexster,

I am studying with DLC and you have to do maths and english as part of the access course if you don't already have the GSCE's. They are at level 2 (GCSE equivalent) and the other modules you do are all at level 3 (A level equivalent).

Hope this helps

Erin

Lol Bexster we are glad you found us, by asking these questions it helps others who are in the same position, or people reading but dont have the courage to write.

Hi Bexster,
I'm in exactly the same boat as you. the uni i want to apply to said I HAD to take maths GCSE seperately. Then the gals on here said I should question this as the access course should cover it. I emailed and emailed the uni and eventually got some sense out of them. They said as long as I did Maths level 2 (part of the access course). So just phone the uni and double check with them. I was v worried about this too, but eventually found out that it's not as bad as I thought!
who are you doing your access course with?
