This is a good one. I know that someone who interviewed on the same day as me, when asked what her weaknesses were, replied chocolate. They were not impressed!!! But saying that, it must be a line that they hear all the time.

A few years back I applied to do primary teaching, and got an interview at Cambridge. On the day I had the most horrendous flu ever, but did not want to miss it. I dosed myself up to the eyeballs, and just tried my best. By the end of the day when we had our one to one interview, the lady asked me how I would incorporate my history degree into primary teaching, and by then I was so tired and ill I sighed and said, "I dunno......" followed by "sorry I feel so ill" She looked at me and said I had looked terrible all day!! Needless to say that was a no! To make matters worse it snowed so heavily on the way home I did a 1/2 hour journey in 4 hours!! No interview day will ever be as bad as that!!

when I finished my nursing degree me and my friends went 2 interviews to get jobs which were all on the same day at career fairs. One of the girls that was there came out of the room crying so I asked her friend if she was ok and she said that her friend had been asked "what can u tell us about confidentiality within the NMC Code of professional conduct" to which she replied..."I dont know I didnt read it"......this was totally put down 2 nerves as she is a fantasic nurse and got 70% in the exam on the subject of the code!!!!!! Funny wha nerves can do 2 ya!!!

When I had my interview back in march for edge hill, I was chatting about organisation and how I thought it would be a good skill I had to bring to uni and placement!! I only went and left all my hand out notes in the interview room right next to where I was sat and had to wait another half an hour to go back and get them, whilst the 2 interviewers were in there! One of them was the head of course so I think I will be seeing her around too!!
Arghhhh I got in tho :P Was very embarrassing!

At my interview in Feb i was asked what i wanted to gain or what i could bring to midwifery. I said i wanted to inspire others into the profession and wanted to be remembered by mums as being happy, cheerful and helpful and not like all the grumpy miserable ones which i had whilst having my babies. Probably not the best thing to say opposite 3 midwives!

I know its in-relevant to midwifery but I went for a job interview at a law firm and they asked me a question "Has there been a time where you have made a mistake? what did you do to correct it, how did you deal with this?" I had two blank stern faces starring at me so I started rambling on how I forgot to get the persons name that i gave some urgent work to and a client was waiting on it and it caused an up roar in the department and i was at home and my manager was calling me" and then I didnt follow with anything else, i just sat there thinking WHY the hell did i just say that. Oh well i didnt get the job but im moving on to better things that being midwifery and by the way that was three years ago and my first job so im not that bad anymore hehehehe xxxxx

In my midwifery interview I said I was interested in maternal deaths >> I was horrified by what I said, as I didn't mean that at all.
I mean't to say that I was surprised that it still happened, then mentioned the Kings fund I had heard about. That must have got me in, nothing else could have. I was rubbish and cried all the way home on the train! x
