Awwww Tash.... only you can work this one out. I suppose if you were honest and told them your circumstances they would totaly understand. As its voluntary I am sure they wouldnt mind, if you did decide that you couldnt handle it. It would give you experience and look good but only you know if you are ready and comfortable working in that particular hospital.
Well done on gaining the work experience place though and good luck with making your desicion xx

Hi Tasha

How brave of you to even contemplate it! I have never lost a child so won't pretend I know how you feel but maybe (??????) it may help to re-visit the hospital for something positive?

I think Blue is right, be honest with people and they will understand if you become emotional or just can't handle it but I think it could be a wonderful opportunity to move forward and confront some of your fear, especially if it is a hospital you may have to visit at some point in the future for another occasion.

You're much stronger than you think you are but don't put yourself through something just for the sake of it if it all feels too traumatic.

Hun you are so much stronger than you give yourself credit for! One day you may end up working there as a sm so it would be good for you to go back in a positive way. It is a fabulous opportunity and I think very worthwhile. I know how you feel about the hospital but also remember the help you are giving other mothers by being there. Just as you are with the berevement room, you wouldn't say not in that hospital as that would defeat the point IYKWIM.

The only person how can make this decision is you Tasha, and understand this is such a dilema, as it somthing you really want to do, but there are so many feelings and emotions involved with the position.
you are right though it will help with your uni application but its not really about that! Its about you and your and your family and whether you could cope with working there.

In my opinion I think you would make a fantastic volunteer at the clinic and they should be thinking them selves lucky to have you lol xx

just out of interset would this be your trust if you went to uni?
because it may help if you did do something there rather than be thrown in when on placement.

I wish you all the luckin the world tasha, make sure you keep us posted with your decision xxx

I agree with Norman, you're a strong brave person Tasha, if you don't feel comfortable you can just leave. But why live a life of regrets, atleast if you try and don't like it you know you gave it your best shot.

Possibly depending on which uni's I apply too, and if I managed to get accepted. But spoken to someone in the know here and she says I have very good reasons not to be placed there.

How ever I am hoping to be a midwife, and well that involves professionalism at all times, doesnt it? To say I wont go there wouldnt be professional, guess I am going to have to put my feelings to one side. I will see what they say.

Thank you for all your thoughts and comments

I would not say unprofessional at all, but I think that maybe you should give the clinic a whirl, you can always leave if it is to tough on you, this just my opinion though..

From reading your past posts you are a strong determind woman, I think you will make an excellent midwife,
I will be really rooting for you when it comes to interview,
are you applying this year Tash? x
