Default Access or MCA Job??!!

Hi again everyone! ,
I'm now even more confused! Have started my access course yesterday...didn't know whether to carry it on as been offered a job on maternity ward too, starting in November!
Coz of shifts won't be able to do both. Now have spoken to my chosen uni to be told that i have to have the access, and home study is no good! She also told me not to pass up on the job?!
What shall i do guys??? x

Thats a tough one hun... what do you ultimately want at the end? As if you def want to go to uni and they won't accept you without the access... the I guess access if the way to go?

But at the same time its a great job opportunity hunni.

Go with your heart... if thats any help? xx And good luck!! x

What uni are you applying to? I am surprised that they wouldnt take a home study course such as Access through the DLC or Open Uni course.

Need an access course or 3 a levels, so OU wouldn't be any good! Its Surrey uni i want to go to. Is the DLC course really hard? Not sure about having the discipline to do it at home, thats the thing! x

Could you maybe see if they would take you as bank MCA? That way you can do your access course and when they phone about shifts you can do the ones your available for and say no to the ones you can't?

Good luck with it, sounds like your uni want it all ways x x

I am doing the course with the DLC, some units are harder than others but there is quite a lot of us doing the course so we all help each other. You do need to be self motivated and disciplined but I am guessing this is a good frame of mind to get into for starting the midwifery degree

How about talking to the hospital and see if they can offer you shifts not on the days you are at college? Maybe you could swap shifts with other MCA's. Or, take both and 'wing it' - there may only be a few times where they clash and maybe you could miss college and catch up later?
