Talk about boosting your confidence - NOT
So my mother in law knows I want to be a mw. I mentioned before that I come on here, also mentioned the bursary.
Before I have even applied, she mentions today that her daughter (a LD Nurse) said that her bursary was 3.5k, and if you drop out you have to pay it back - the full amount not instalments!! I think she is expecting that I will drop out, otherwise why mention it!!

Talking out her bum too! I've never heard anything about having to pay it back! None of the 'senior' ladies in my family have ever been very support of the idea of me being a midwife either - nowt as queer as folk ay?!

ive never heard of anyone having to pay it back, you ring the bursary up and they stop payments.
i cant understand why some people cannot support you in your decision, i would prove them all wrong hun x good luck xx

Hey its what her daughter said so it MUST be true (is there a smirk smiley per chance) honestly!! I got told when I was younger I didnt have the brains to be a nurse! just would like a nice supportive family!

I would say take not one bit of notice, in life there are always people who say things that pee you off, but she has no idea of your true feelings and aspirations, take no notice chick.....Just take it on the chin. xxx
