Default have a bit of a problem...

i'm currently doing my access to midwifery course with the DLC with a view to applying for uni for 09 intake, however i've seen a position for a maternity support worker at my local hospital and think that i would like to apply for it, as i know places are sought after and i might not get in this year or even next year...but do i be honest and tell them i'm applying to uni, or not mention it in case they don't want to give me the job because of that? help!!!

I applied for an MCA job last year, I put on my application that I was going to be applying to train as a midwife (I had to really - otherewise it would look a bit odd, I already had a successful 'career', they would wonder why I would be wanting to change jobs and drastically reduce my salary). I got an interview but wasn't successful as 'there were other applicants who were already health care assistants so they had experience'.
I'd say tell them.
Good luck x
