I'm not at this stage just yet but I want to know the pros and cons of doing this part time. when it is my turn it's a choice of working full time and doing the course or quitting my job (and suffering the hardship) and going full time. So far it seems that the part time courses are 2 years and the full time 1, is this the case for anyone doing it in London?

Thanks Scallywag - out of curiosity did you do an Access course and was it full or part time?
I see you have a newborn, how did you manage pregnancy, birth and study? I would like to have another child myself and don't know how it would be best to time joining a course if nature takes it's course when I want it to. If that makes sense! |

I did my Access full time over one year and absolutely loved every minute of it!!
I fell pregnant four months into the course, and was six months gone by the time I finished. My first son was five months when I started the course, and though I won't say it was easy, we managed pretty well. Luckily my husband is very supportive and helped out a great deal around the house. I did most of my work once my son was in bed or while my husband was around to look after him. It got a bit tougher towards the end when I started feeling a bit more tired with the pregnancy and everything, but I think the fact that I was enjoying it so much really helped! I am definitely better at being a student than being a stay-at-home mum, and absolutely can't wait to get stuck into the degree; I've never been happier than when I was doing my Access course and I miss it desperately. Anyway, I digress..... Good luck with whatever route you decide to follow and I hope it all works out for you, hon. Take care! Clare X (And nature has a funny way of making sure things work out for the best. Go for it!! XX)
